When to visit the Cité du Chocolat ?

The Cité du Chocolat Valrhona is open 7 days a week, all year round (except December 25, January 1, and May 1). 

  • We recommend visiting in the morning as soon as it opens (from 9:00 AM) or in the early afternoon around 1:00 PM. 
  • The visit is self-guided; the time slots are limited to ensure visitor safety. 
  • For hygiene and safety reasons, the chocolate factory is not open to the public. A space entirely dedicated to chocolate making immerses you in the behind-the-scenes process of chocolate production. 
  • Animals, even small ones, are not allowed during the visit, with the exception of assistance dogs. 
  • We are committed to an eco-responsible approach, with careful management of energy, water, and waste. Please bring your own container for drinking; water fountains are available. 
  • Please allow time for parking, as we do not have a parking lot, but parking is free. 
  • The visit includes tastings (approximately fifteen throughout the tour). 

For a smooth and hassle-free experience, we recommend booking your tickets in advance through our secure online ticketing system. By booking through our website, you save time at the entrance. 

  • Choose your visit time slot 
  • Book a chocolate workshop or a meal at the Comptoir Porcelana restaurant to complement your visit 
  • Receive your ticket directly on your smartphone; simply present it on your phone at the entrance, without going to the Cité counters.
